Flycell has launched Flycell 2.0 - a new digital entertainment destination to provide consumers with audio, video and interactive content that they desire, over multiple media platforms. Flycell's new Web site and WAP portal are rich with new features, including exclusive and original, on-demand video programming, MP3-quality ringtones and several interactive applications. The announcement was made today by Flycell CEO Alberto Montesi.
Mr. Montesi also disclosed that Flycell has signed an agreement with Universal Music Group (UMG) that brings MP3-quality ringtones and other content featuring UMG artists to consumers through Flycell's new digital entertainment destination. All music, games, video and other content will be available via subscription to Flycell's new "Club Pack" which brings all of Flycell's digital entertainment together in one package. For $9.99 per month, subscribers receive 20 credits to purchase any content that can be utilized online as well as on their mobile phones.
"Flycell has established itself as a premier mobile entertainment company over the past two-plus years, building a strong customer base and growing our sales to over $45 million," said Mr. Montesi. "We are now taking the company to the next level, applying the expertise we developed in the complex mobile industry to provide an optimal, integrated, digital entertainment experience for our Generation Y audience to enjoy across all new media platforms."
Flycell 2.0 has been designed to target the 14-25 year old demographic with a modern, slick look that is easy to navigate and more consumer-friendly than other digital entertainment destinations. Flycell's "Locker" allows subscribers to store downloaded items on Flycell.com for future use - such as transferring content that was on a lost or old mobile phone to a new one - which serves as a back-up function unique to the industry. The Flycell News Blog features daily posts on the latest trends and products that Flycell's target audience cares about. Additional features include customizable, personalized "My Flycell" pages that allow users to manage their account and mobile content; "Mobile Match Up," a dating and flirting chat service; "TXTr," an innovative Web-to-phone text messaging tool; gifting to share content with your friends; the ability for users to rate and recommend content; along with additional functionality.
Flycell's future plans include the roll-out of a full blown mobile and online community where users will have access to free dating features; sharing of user generated content; mobile games competitions; GPS-enabled location-based services; as well as original, on-demand video Webisodes and mobisodes from Flycell Productions.
